At leisure. A day for us to familiarise ourselves with the city,
whether you admire the attractive buildings such as Dragon
Hall, the Guildhall and 17th Century Pulls Ferry with its 15th
Century arch over the former canal where the ferries used to
run. Wander through historic streets such as Pottergate and
Timber Hill with their old buildings and unusual shops. Don’t
forget your purse!!! |
| Day 3 |
Today our excursion takes us to Sandringham House.
Sandringham is a friendly and informal place to visit, with
knowledgeable guides in every room of the house and acres
of beautiful gardens to explore while the Museum houses
extraordinary collections of Royal vehicles, rare ceramics,
photographs and memorabilia. There is plenty to see and do
around the estate as well - don't miss the parish church of St
Mary Magdalene with its hosts of carved and painted angels
and its many Royal memorials; the tractor and trailer tour of
the Country Park saves tired legs, and of course the
Restaurant or Stables Tea Room can offer reviving hot or cold
drinks, snacks and meals before you investigate the Gift Shop
and Plant Centre. |
| Day 4 |
Our excursion today takes us along the North Norfolk Poppy
Line from Sheringham to Holt which offers a 10.5 mile round
trip by steam train through a delightful area of North Norfolk
designated as being of outstanding natural beauty. We then
take a one way train on the Bure Valley Railway from
Aylsham to Wroxham before embarking on a round trip
Broads cruise. |
| Day 5 |
The seaside beckons today – we visit Cromer, a bustling
Edwardian family seaside town, famous for its tasty Cromer
Crabs. It is home to a wonderful pier, landscaped cliff top
gardens, promenades, putting greens and Blue Flag standard
beaches. In the afternoon, we will pay a visit to Great
Yarmouth, a flourishing coastal resort since 1760. Enjoy over
15 miles of sandy beach, the funfair, a game of mini-golf or
simply enjoy a walk along one of the two lively piers. |
