| ITINERARY |
| Day 1 |
We depart early morning, travel south to Ilfracombe to arrive
in time for dinner. |
| Day 2 |
At leisure |
| Day 3 |
Today we have a full day excursion along the North Devon
coast to Bude which overlooks fine golden sands and is
flanked by spectacular cliffs, famous for its wreckers who
plundered ships which came to grief off the coast. |
| Day 4 |
We visit the market town of Barnstaple which is the
commercial centre of the region combining sophisticated
shopping with the bustling atmosphere of markets and
speciality shops and on to Bideford, in Elizabethan times it
was the second busiest port after London and today is a
modest riverside town. |
| Day 5 |
Our excursion today takes us to Lynton and Lynmouth.
Lynton is a bright Victorian village with a selection of shops
and cafes and is connected to Lynmouth by a unique water
operated cliff railway dating back to 1890. Beneath the cliffs
lies the pretty harbour of Lynmouth and its charming row of
fishing cottages. |
